The Lucent is an out-the-front automatic designed by Andrew Demko, built on the same slim lines as our Solstice. It’s an OTF you can carry with a suit. The Large has a 3.5" blade in three profiles, each paired with its own handle pattern: Harpoon with Diamond, Straight with Pinstripe, and Serpentine with Circles.

The 6061-T6 aluminum handle keeps the weight to 2.2 oz, and jimping on the top and underside gives you a firm grip during blade release and retraction. The blade is Böhler M390, a powder steel from Austria that holds an edge well and resists corrosion. Our signature deep-carry clip wraps around the handle and hides its own screw holes, so in your pocket the Lucent looks about as modest as a knife can. Every one is assembled and tested by our team before it ships.

Prefer something smaller? The Mini offers the same fast, effortless deployment in a California-legal 1.9" package.

Automatic knives rely on tight tolerances and internal springs that require upkeep to keep them in good working condition. If your Lucent misfires or disengages, this is a safety feature, not a malfunction, and the internal spring can be reset.

Click HERE to read our maintenance guide and instructions on how to reset your Lucent if it misfires.

Choose Your Blade

The Large Lucent comes in three blade profiles, each paired with its own handle pattern. Harpoon features a Diamond pattern, Straight comes in Pinstripe, and Serpentine in Circles - giving each profile a distinct look and feel in the hand.

Dual-Action Deployment

The double-action automatic mechanism makes opening and closing fast and easy. Simply slide the switch up to deploy the blade and back down to retract it. The built-in safety mechanism prevents the blade from fully deploying if an object impedes it when the trigger is pushed.

EVERY KNIFE, TESTED BY US

Every Lucent is assembled and tested by our team before it ships. Because OTF knives rely on tight tolerances and internal springs, we’re happy to help if your knife ever has trouble deploying. Send it back to us for an inspection or a full disassembly and cleaning, and it will be serviced by the same people who built it.

FAQs

Automatic knife laws vary from state to state - some have blade length restrictions and other states have strict prohibitions. We recommend you visit AKTI.org for the most up-to-date regulations and restrictions on automatic knives in your state.

We do not ship automatic knives to MN, NY, or D.C.

Outside of blade length restrictions in your state (check AKTI.org for current laws), the choice comes down to personal preference. The Mini features a 1.9" blade and weighs 1.5 oz. The Large features a 3.5" blade and weighs 2.2 oz. California residents must choose the Mini, as California law restricts OTF blades to 2 inches.

Automatic knives incorporate built-in safety mechanisms to prevent accidental deployment. If the blade disengages or fails to deploy fully, it's not a malfunction. This intentional failure helps avoid unintended openings, especially when the knife is carried or stored. If your knife misfires and needs to be "reset", follow the instructions in our guide HERE

Every Ocaso knife is warranted against defects in workmanship and materials for life. If your knife fails due to a manufacturing defect, we'll repair or replace it. Normal wear and tear is not covered.

We're happy to help if you would like to send your Lucent Automatic to us for an inspection or full disassembly and cleaning, or if you have any questions about maintenance or a warranty issue.
