What Is Entropic Anodizing?
The anodizing process combines the use of heat and ferric acid to create a randomly patterned oxide layer on the surface of titanium. The resulting finish is sometimes called "entropic anodizing" in reference to entropy, the state of randomness and disorder of matter.
A strong, durable finish
The oxide layer formed during the anodizing process is extremely durable and won't wear off. If you find your scales dull after prolonged use, a quick wipe with Windex brings the finish back to it's original luster.
No Two Are Alike
The anodization process results in random patterns and a range of color hues from blue to deep purple. The pattern and color on each knife varies due to the nature of the process.
Make it custom
If you'd like your Anodized Solstice configured with a Harpoon or Wharncliffe blade, note this in the "order note" section in your cart and we'll make this customization for you. Be sure to add whether you want a satin finish or a black PVD blade.
